Sacrifice
Sacrifice One of the most interesting thing I’ve learned, speaking with the cards, is about the element of sacrifice in our lives.
You could call it a galaxy religion or a dandelion religion. It came to me over years, seeing it in the cards.
I’ve been reading tarot cards since I was a young woman, over twenty years ago now. About ten years ago, I started to ask more abstract questions. I believe I was trapped on a boat at the time, and we were poor, and there wasn’t much to do. The cards were my friends, and so I started asking them what they thought about the world that humans had created. They were willing to talk!
In the ensuing years, I have learned a lot about what “they” think of us, and what “they” are up to. I came to believe I was communing with the gods of the old religion, especially those who dwelt in the Underworld. This seems to be in line with what cultures who used divination to speak with the gods have maintained.
It’s not that every card that I pull is filled with profound revelations, but once in awhile, I will put a card full of astonishing depth and clarity, with so much information.
Most of the time when I draw a card, it’s about a small topic and I get a small answer. Or sometimes it just nonsense, or about something I can’t understand. But occasionally, I seem to get someone higher up “on the line”. If they are in the mood to talk, they will usually let me ask a series of questions. These are times that I learn a lot.
It reminds me of the joke about the blind men and the elephant. I don’t know the whole story. But they’ve shown me these bit and pieces.
These glances into the world of the spirits have caused me to build up a whole new belief system over time. I would like to share those beliefs. I feel like it will bring comfort to those who, like me, can’t find an Otherworld in mainstream religious or secular sources.
The cards have told me the main thematic structures of our lives are sacrifice, learning and loving.
