A Night Religion

Learning

I started asking the tarot cards impersonal questions when I was trapped on a boat with my husband. We were commercial fishing at the time with our boat, and it was not going very well for us. We lived on the boat, and during the winter we didn’t have alot of fishing time, due to the bad weather. We were poor, and Kodiak didn’t even have one book store! The tarot was my only friend. So I got bored and started asking the cards questions like, “Are human’s really screwing up the earth?” And they were like yes. Yes you are. I was fascinated and realized I could basically hold conversations, at times, with the powers-that-be.

I got in the habit of asking them all sorts of questions, to see what they would tell me. I started to ask them classic questions like, why are there bad people, why do such horrible things happen to nice people. When we did make good with our fishing, we would get a hotel room and watch cable. Of course, we watched Forensic Files, cheap rural cable’s preeminent murder show. I would watch a program about all the horrible shit people do to each other and think, why? They give me the same answer every time I ask. They say it’s because we all have to learn.

Learning and growing consciousness seems to be the whole point of The System.

Conscious is so precious. It is the central point of each entity. And it’s difficult to handle, we need alot of practice. After reading the cards for all these years, I feel sure that the project of nurturing and developing consciousness is why the whole universe exists. It’s a lot. And it’s important. So much energy and effort has gone into creating this platform, and we get to enjoy the benefits of all this planning and work.

The process of learning is deep and involves our souls. That’s who’s really doing the learning. Souls learn slowly, and we often must go through experiences many time before we really understand, truly completely, some life concept. We don’t understand what it happening, and we squeak and cry, but the gods go about their implacable work of educating us.

Everyday I get up and hear the news. I feel so miserably sad when I hear about things that are happening to people’s lives, and the suffering caused by what we’re doing to out environment. And then I have to conclude, this world isn’t meant to be a good place. If it was good and nice and easy, we wouldn’t learn. Our souls are stubborn.

When we look at our world, we see bad people prospering, and poor people, good and bad, ground under the heel of the wealthy and powerful. What we don’t see are all the lessons, because lessons can take ages to learn. We have to live many lives.

Each soul is unique, and each soul is at a different point in it’s journey towards understanding. And there are so many of us, all here learning at the same time. We are in the vale of learning. Because out life on earth is for the purpose of learning, it almost can’t be a good safe place. It is supposed to be fucked up and bad, because bad experiences is mostly how we learn.

Learning is THE priority.

The gods give us a lot of rope to hang ourselves with. They’ll let someone carry on and do bad, successfully, from when they can walk until the day they die. What you won’t see is the thousand round lives they live after, where they get to be in the position of everyone they damaged and obstructed.

For them, it isn’t important that our feelings be vindicated. They aren’t here to make us feel good. That’s why we see the bad go unpunished, in our lifetime, sometimes it happens. Although, I’m old enough now to see, that for most people, bad behavior doesn’t work out that well for them in the end. Everyone’s life has ups and downs.  But in any case, the point of life simplistic, and we don’t get to see those human ego gratifying endings, like in the movies too awesome. It’s just not a priotoryt. The person who’s getting away with being bad, is setting themselves up for some exactly perfect lessons that will happen at the perfect time, and in the perfect place for them to learn them.

Meanwhile, we all have our own things to learn, and our own lives to occupy ourselves with. It’s as Hannah Arrent said, we must always be giving each other our rights. If you want to do something about bad people, join law enforcement, the justice system, politics or journalism. If not, there’s not much you can or should do to control the conduct of other people who are not your young children. The gods seem to like if we mind our own business. We have our own problems we’re working on. If you mess with someone’s else’s life, then they have to deal with you, when they could be working on their own lives instead. Then you’re messing up their story, that’s not good. If they aren’t doing bad, I guess you’ll only make them stronger anyway.

The gods viewpoint and belief system is extremely different from ours. Things that we see as very bad, such as murder, is not such a big deal for them. The gods who tend human souls do not fear death. Their value system is so different than ours, it can be really hard for us to understand how some of the things that happen to us could be beneficial.

Take the murder of an innocent victim. This is an extreme event, that has wide ranging repercussions and is a really useful tool for the gods when working with us. First off, the murderer does the act. They will probably learn a lot from this. They will either learn something wrong or something right. The right thing to learn is that murder feels terrible, it doesn’t go away, and almost any other way of resolving the situation would be better.

Or they learn a wrong thing about the world. They may go on a terrible adventure. The cards told me that the truly destructive, the psycho ones are used as tools by the gods to bring lessons to other people’s lives.

An act as potent as taking the live of another human has consequences that ripple out through time and space and bring more lessons, and more moving of energy through families, groups of people and society.

The murdered may be punished and have that one act ruin the rest of their life, or at least take most of their fun away. They may be haunted by regrets and terrors. They have slated themselves then to have a dark experience in the future. Worse even for them is the broken relationships and broken trust… life can’t even trust them. Murdering people does not put the murder in a good position. It attracts evil spirits. They will then have alot to work through. Eventually this soul will either change, or be dissolved. Any one of their bad deeds could be the tipping point that sends that soul in a new direction.

The effect on the families and loved ones of a murder victims is also profound. They learn about love, loss and how to live. They will remember that person and this event in the underworld. It will change the choices the persons and families make for their next life, and the life after that.

The soul of the person who was killed can also benefit. I know that sounds strange, but that’s what the cards said. They might have taken someone’s life previously, and they needed to learn how it feels to have it ripped away. It’s possible that that soul could have volunteered to have their experience to pay a dept, or that they wanted to be the ones to bring the learning experience to a loved one.

They might have been taking life and the people around them for granted. Maybe they were on autopilot, and needed to be shocked awake. That is one thing I found that really surprised me. The gods do not like us to be complacent. They want us to be alive and looking around. They will really get aggressive with us if they feel we’re trying to live on autopilot. It seems like they don’t want us to loose touch with our animal instincts or take life’s safety for granted. Life isn’t easy and safe. It is wondrous though.

No one should feel guilty if the end up spiritually benefiting, in the end, from the unfair death of a loved one. it’s best not to waste their sacrifice. Keep loving them, and you will see them again.

Ultimately, the gods seem so deeply intelligent and focused on their unknowable endgame. They seem to be able to manipulate our world and ourselves with great subtlety. Their grasp of human behavior is phenomenal, and they are beyond clever in their manipulations. It is very difficult to fathom why things happen to us, what their ultimate motive is, but I have found, time and time again, that the purpose has to do with learning. The gods don’t seem to have ego like we do. They are full of love and wisdom, and a fascination with which they bend to their task, the task of teaching us to be real.

If you hurt people needlessly and can’t understand the value of what life is trying to share with you, you will have to pay…. but you don’t pay with punishment… you pay with learning. There is someone who has the time and patience to make you understand. The gods are with us when we doe, and they can touch our lives from the Underworld. There is no hiding from their processes.

I understand this is a very different message, a different kind of spiritual message. In the world I see in the cards, the gods are not at all concerned with sinning, with obedience, or even self-improvement. They are working to expand and develop our consciousness. It seems they feel that will naturally lead to us becoming loving, and compassionate and good problem solvers.
